On December 10, 1982, the CWRU Women's Center is holding a picket against pornography on the CWRU campus. The picket will begin at 7:15 p.m. in front of Strosacker Auditorium on the Case quad. The second seminar on Teels for Community Ecenenic Transformation will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area on January 9-15, 1983, The third will take place in the Midwest, probably in the Chicago area, on June 12-18, 1983. The seminars are designed for persons who can apply the skills acquired in the seminars to their work in community economic revitalization and in businesses serving essential community needs. Particular attention is given to innovative approaches to integrated communi. ty economic transformation involving the techniques of self-financing. A conférence entitled Common Differences: Third World Women and Feminist Perspectives will be held at the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign, on April 9-13, 1983. The First National Tradeswomen Conference is currently being planned for Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29, 1983. It will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area and will bring together women from trades groups scattered over the country, as well as individual women working in blue collar jobs and advocacy positions. The conference will give women an opportunity to build a strong national network, share ideas, and talk about what it is like to be a blue collar woman. January 22, 1983 marks the tenth anniversary of the legalization of abortion. Celebrate this important event for women with Kristen Lems in concert on January 22 at 8:30 p.m. at Cleveland State University, Main Classroom Building Auditorium. The Cleveland Abertion Rights Action League will run an ad in the Plain Dealer, signed by supporters of choice, on Friday, January 21, 1983. Cost to sign the ad is $3.50 for individuals and $20.00 for organizations. Deadline is January 18. Also on January 21, the Reproductive Freedom Coalition will sponsor a "speak out'' by women who had illegal abortions prior to the 1973 decision, from noon to 1:00 p.m., at a downtown location to be announced. Congressman Louis Stokes will participate.

Women Speak Out for Peace and Justics will hold their annual Holiday Bazaar and White Elephant Sale on Saturday, December 4, 1982 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Civic, 3130 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights. The Bazaar features arts and crafts gifts, cards, books and records from the movement; baked goods and a snack bar. Raffle tickets will be sold on Gene Epstein's oil painting "Autumn at Gibbs Point'' or a Cuisinart food processor. Admission is free. For information, call Louise Lawler, 991-2640.

Organizational Notes

Oven Productions is looking for a coordinator for the 1983 Variety Show to be held Saturday, February 19, 1983. We need a woman who has theater/production experience and good communications skills. She must have access to a car, live in Cleveland, and have a phone. Required time commitments will include some Tuesday night meetings in December, January and February, three Sunday night meetings in January, and flexible hours during January and February through the 19th, The salary is $250.00. If you're interested, call Marty or Susan at 932-8111 by December 6, 1982. Women interested in being MC's for the Variety Show should be sure to attend the first Variety Show meeting January 9. If you can't make it, call Marty at 932-8111.

Oven Productions will hold open planning meetings for the Women's Variety Show to be held Saturday, February 19, 1983. Three open planning meetings will be held in January in the Community Room in the West Wing of the Civic, 3130 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights. The dates are Sundays, January 9, 16 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. Groups who have planned acts already need only send a spokeswoman for the group. Come and share your ideas!
